ACT/SAT Prep – Spring 2017

Dan Bacich is back to teach SAT & ACT Prep this April, May & June! April dates will focus on the SAT for the May 6th test. May & June dates will focus on the ACT for the June 10th test.

This conference is for all female students in grades 7th – 12th.

2017 Black Man Can Institute

A One day series of activities and workshops that focus on uplifting young men of color. Presented by STEP & CSTEP.

 

2017 fUTURE EDUCATORS DAY

Interested in a career in education or teaching? This free event will include worshops, a Q&A panel, campus tour, and a free raffle!

2017 Health and wellness lecture serious

Lecture series on the mental health services available to the Black community.

  • When: Monday, March 27, 2017 from 7:00PM-8:30PM.
  • Where: South Side Innovation Center

Race, Gender, and STEM: A Screening and Discussion of Hidden Figures and Intersectionality

Open captioned screening of Hidden Figures followed by a panel discussion. Tickets are free at Schine Box office with SU I.D

  • When: Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 5PM
  • Where: Grant Auditorium, Falk College

Student project demonstrations, residence hall tours, lunch on the Quad and more! Open to both admitted and prospective students.

Requirements for students to qualify for this trip are as follows:

  • Student must have reached at least the Bronze level (80 average or better) in the Olympics of the Mind Club
  • Student’s parent/guardian must have completed their 4 hours of service to the program
  • Students must have completed their 10 hours of community service
  • Students must have attended at least 6 sessions of SLA
